NRM Vice Chairperson for Eastern Uganda, Capt. Mike Mukula has emphatically downplayed the presidential candidature of Bobi Wine saying Uganda is not a country to experiment inexperienced leaders.
Late last week, former minister Mukula reminisced the old ugly days of insecurity and political turmoil characterized by extra-judicial killings and economic stagnation.
“Uganda is not a country where you make experiments with security and leadership at the national level. We have suffered several years; political and economic setbacks with colossal loss of human life. NEVER AGAIN” Capt. Mukula posted on twitter.
In a telephone interview, Capt. Mukula emphasized that his Twitter message was meant for Kyadondo East MP Robert Kyagulanyi aka Bobi Wine whom he said is still “too raw” to run this country as president. Mukula added that President Yoweri Museveni is still undisputedly the right candidate for 2021 general polls because of the enormous milestones achieved in the last 34years since NRM government came into power.
“President Museveni has steered regional peace and security; our economy is now growing at about 6% per annum, there is therefore no doubt that Museveni is still strong and there is no room for inexperienced people like Bobi Wine,” Mukula said.
In an early Twitter post, Mukula said, “Uganda is now peaceful , having fought insecurity for over 33 years from 1986 , you can now move from any part of this country day or night, north to south, east to west . Thank you GENERAL MUSEVENI.”
