National Resistance Movement (NRM) Vice Chairperson for Eastern region, Flight Capt Mike Mukula has donated Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) to Soroti District COVID-19 Taskforce.

Mukula, former Soroti Municipality MP on Tuesday donated the items worth Shs50m which will go a long way to helping medical workers at the regional health facility.

This comes after Soroti Regional Hospital on Monday received 4 COVID-19 patients who tested positive from Kumi District.

According to officials from Ministry of Health, the four have been in self-quarantine after getting into contact with one businessman from Bukedea who tested postive at Elegu border.

As of 25 May, 2020, Uganda's COVID-19 cases stood at 222 after recording 10 new cases.

Former Health Minister Mukula has been instrumental in uplifting the face of Soroti while he was MP for over 10years. He retired from active politics in 2016 to concentrate on his blossoming businesses and is currently the NRM Vice chairperson for Eastern region.
