The Minister of ICT and National Guidance Peter Ogwang has urged the districts Taskforces to amplify and simplify the presidential directives in the local dialects to avoid misinterpretation and distortion of the COVID-19 guidelines to maximise compliance.
Ogwang, who is also Vice chairperson of the, National COVID-19 Communication Taskforce is currently holding his regional tours in the Eastern and Northern.
While meeting the Dokolo District Taskforce, Ogwang tasked the leaders to make good use of the media like radio stations to sensitize the public about this pandemic and translate the presidential guidelines.
Ogwang also appealed to businesmen in Northern Uganda who travel to Elegu and return home to freely accept to be quarantined and tested for COVID-19.
"If you are a businessman who has just returned from Elegu or any border centre, please accept to be quarantined for 2weeks then when you are cleared, you can resume your business. Quarantine is not a death sentence or a punishment," Ogwang said.
The Minister will also meet the Lira District Taskforce and tomorrow, Tuesday, he will be in Kole, Oyam and Gulu.
