Police has announced that they will reactivate all curfew check points after it emerged that most people are violating the new standard operating procedures on COVID-19.

Kampala Metropolitan Spokesperson Patrick Onyango said that Police will, starting today, stay vigilant on all road users who violate curfew hour. President Yoweri Museveni announced that motorcyclists will stop operating at 1900hours while vehicles stop at 2100hours.

However, curfew time has been highly violated of late with traffic jam spotted on main roads even as late as 11pm.

“Tonight (October 12, 2020), we are re-instating all curfew check points. Vehicles will be stopped at 2100hours. We are witnessing people starting to violate the curfew hours. Today, plan your journey early,” Onyango said.
