Cabinet has approved the 2nd Board of Directors of the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (UHTTI).

The Jinja based Institute is a government owned tertiary Institution mandated to provide knowledge and skills through; Education, Training and research in areas of Hospitality and Tourism management. UHTTI programs are fully accredited by the National Council for Higher Education.

In a cabinet meeting that sat at State House, Entebbe on Monday, James Wokadala, the former lecturer at Makerere University has been approved as the chairperson of Board of Directors. He will be deputized by Florence Naduk, a research assistant at the Office of the Prime Minister (OPM).

Other members of the board as approved by Cabinet are; Nahida Bhegani, Rosemary Kobutagi, Dr Jane Egau Okou, Emmanuel Kaweesi, Cephas Birungyi Kagyenda, Samora Semakula, Simon Maganda and Joan Miriam Namutosi.

Similarly, Cabinet has also approved Arch. Abdu- Wahab Nyanzi as the 6th Member of the 12th Architects Registration Board. This means that Members of the Board of Architects Registration Board is now fully constituted. The Board is chaired by Arch. Robert Henry Kiggundu and Arch. Miriam Lawino as the Vice chairperson.

The other members are; Arch. Stephen Sendi Kajumba, Arch. Verna Mbabazi Mwinganisa and Arch. Abdu Wahab Nyanzi. It is only Kiggundu (Chairperson) and Verna Mbabazi (member) whose contracts were renewed as the rest are new board members.

The Architects Registration Board is a Statutory Body established by an Act of Parliament in 1996. The Architects Registration Act, Cap 269 was passed into law to empower regulation and maintenance of the standards and practice of Architecture in Uganda.
