The Parliamentary Committee on Appointments has this morning successfully vetted the new presidential nominees of Uganda Human Rights Commission (UHRC).
Last month, President Museveni appointed new Members of the Human Rights Commission. The Appointments Committee chaired by Deputy Speaker Anita Among vetted Mariam Wandadya, the new chairperson of the Commission.
Wandadya, the former Deputy IGG replaces Med Kagwa who died in 2019. Other Members who were vetted include; former Minister of State for Ethics, Fr. Simon Lokodo, Crispin Kaheru, the former Coordinator for Citizens' Coalition for Electoral Democracy in Uganda (CCEDU), Shifra Lukwago, opposition politician and Jacklet Atuheire, former Sheema Woman MP.
