Minister of State for Economic Monitoring has warned civil servants to keep their appetite out public funds or face jail.

Ogwang has been in Bunyoro sub region monitoring the implementation of central and local government projects. During his 10 day field visit that ended on Saturday, Ogwang unearthed a lot of corruption, abuse of office among civil servants and has vowed to use the laws to ensure that Police thoroughly investigates the suspects and leading to their prosecution.

Ogwang took to his Twitter handle to warn corrupt civil servants to either resign or face jail.

“If you know your appetite is on public funds, please resign because for the next 5years if I am still State Minister in Charge of Economic Monitoring, Prisons are going to be full. I am going to be very unpopular among the corrupt,” Ogwang said.

Apparently, over 50 civil servants in Local Governments in Bunyoro sub region are under police investigation on orders of Minister Ogwang for allegedly misappropriating public funds meant for the implementation of government projects. Ogwang has embarked on a countrywide tour to monitor government projects. His next field visit will be Busoga sub region.
