Maj Gen Don William Nabasa today assumed the command of Military Police, taking over from Brig Keith Katungi.
Katungi is now the Uganda People's Defence Forces (UPDF) contingent commander in Somalia under the Africa Mission in Somalia (AMISOM).
The handover ceremony held at Makindye Military Police headquarters was presided over by the Deputy Chief of the Defense Forces Lt Gen Peter Elwelu, according to Lt. Col. Ronald Kakurungu, the deputy defense spokesman.
President Yoweri Museveni switched the two defense chiefs in late October.
Brig Katungi assumed the office of Military Police Commander in August 2020 when he took over from Brig William Bainomugisha.
Gen Nabasa assumed the office as sector one commander in December 2020 having succeeded Brig Richard Otto.
