Paul Ssemogerere is the new Archbishop of Kampala.
He replaces Dr. Cyprian Kizito Lwanga who died in April of this year.
The pope's envoy to Uganda, Archbishop Luigi Bianco announced the appointment that was made by Pope Francis.
Ssemogerere, who has been serving as the Apostolic Administrator of Kampala Archdiocese, said "highly honored" to get the new assignment to serve the Lord.
Paul Ssemogerere has also served as the bishop of Kassana-Luweero Diocese.
