The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Henry Okello Oryem on Thursday morning received credentials from businessman Godfrey Kirumira, the new Honorary Consul of Namibia to Uganda.

"The Minister congratulated Mr. Kirumira upon his appointment & noted that this will further strengthen relations between" Uganda and Namibia, the ministry tweeted Thursday evening.

Kirumura, who owns multiple businesses in Kampala, will be operating from Lumumba Avenue, Nakasero and his office opened on May 1.

He pledged to attract more Namibian tourists and investors to the country

Uganda and Namibia have long-standing relations.  In 2019, Netumbo Nabdi-Ndaitwah, Namibian deputy prime minister and had meetings with President Yoweri Museveni and other leaders.
