Security agencies conducted an on-site meeting at the Anglican worship center to plan for security on Uganda Martyrs Day on June 3.
According to SSP Patrick Onyango, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for Kampala Metropolitan Police (KMP), they decided that starting Wednesday night, the road from Kyaliwajjala to Sonde will be reserved for pedestrians only, and all motorists will be diverted as follows:
Motorists using Seeta - Sonde Road will be diverted at the Catholic Mbalwa Road junction and will exit at Agenda 2000.
Motorists traveling from Nalya to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at the Kyaliwajjala junction and will use Semambro Road.
Motorists coming from Kireka to Kyaliwajjala will be diverted at Agenda 2000 and will use Mbalwa Road.
Motorists traveling from Jinja to the Capital City should drive directly to the city center and avoid using Seeta - Namugongo Road.
This diversion will remain in place until June 3.
"Please plan your journey in advance as we expect traffic congestion around Namugongo," Onyango said in a statement. "We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these diversions."
