Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) has equipped its regional coordinators with specialized Information and Communication Technology (ICT) training to enhance data management and service delivery.
The training, held at OWC headquarters in Kamwokya, follows the recent acquisition of 350 tablets from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance. The devices aim to modernize OWC’s digital operations and improve efficiency in program implementation.
Participants from 18 gazetted sub-regions received instruction in advanced applications, systems management, data analysis, and modern data collection techniques.
Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi, Acting Deputy Chief Coordinator of OWC, urged coordinators to apply their newly acquired skills to improve service delivery. “Effective and efficient service delivery contributes to the country’s socio-economic transformation,” he said.
Eng. John Wekesa Wambogo, OWC’s Director of ICT, stressed that the tablets should be used strictly for government-related work. He emphasized their role in implementing the Parish Development Model (PDM) and other key OWC programs.
Dr. Edward Katende, OWC’s representative at the PDM Secretariat, reaffirmed the digitization of all PDM processes. He said the tablets would streamline reporting, verify PDM beneficiaries, and curb fraud to ensure transparency.
The training was attended by Brig Gen James Kaija, Chief Staff Officer of Operations, along with other departmental heads and officers.
