The Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) 4 Infantry Division has recognized senior officers for their professionalism and dedication during a handover and takeover ceremony.
Presiding over the ceremony on behalf of Division Commander Major General Felix Busizoori, Deputy Commander Brigadier General Jackson Kayanja praised both outgoing and incoming officers for upholding the values of discipline, integrity, and service.
The event saw Colonel Innocent Tukashaba hand over duties as Division Training Officer to Colonel Orombi Olaya, while Colonel Samson Nabeeta relinquished the role of Division Administration Officer to Colonel Godfrey Anang.
Brig Gen Kayanja urged the new administration team to build on the achievements of their predecessors, emphasizing the importance of efficiency and care for personnel.
“You must prioritize troop welfare and maintain administrative effectiveness across the Division,” he said.
He also stressed the importance of adhering to standard operating procedures during field operations to ensure smooth coordination and avoid misunderstandings.
“This enhances coordination and minimizes conflicts among key stakeholders,” Brig Gen Kayanja noted.
Col Tukashaba, who is set to attend the National Strategic Course at the National Defence College Uganda (NDC-U), thanked the UPDF leadership for the trust placed in him and appreciated the mentorship received during his tenure.
Outgoing Administration Officer Col Nabeeta reflected on his service with gratitude and called on his successor to embrace innovation in managing the Division’s operations.
“Adopt new technologies and explore modern administrative approaches to improve the Division’s performance,” Col Nabeeta advised.
The ceremony was attended by senior officers, department heads, and personnel from various units within the 4 Infantry Division.
