The Kenyan Chief of the Defence Forces (CDF), General Charles Kahariri, on Tuesday received a courtesy call from Uganda’s new Defence Attaché to Kenya, Brigadier General McDans Kamugira, at Defence Headquarters (DHQ) in Nairobi.

Kenya's Defence Ministry said in a statement that the visit served both as an introduction and a step towards strengthening bilateral ties between the two countries.

"Both Uganda and Kenya are committed to enhancing bilateral relations and cooperation on shared security interests and the pursuit of regional economic growth, peace and stability," the statement read.

Brigadier General Kamugira conveyed greetings from CDF of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, and praised the cordial relationship between the KDF and UPDF.

General Kahariri welcomed him to Kenya and wished him a successful tour of duty.
