President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has unveiled a locally designed firefighting vehicle, the Muliro Eater, and presented it to ambassadors from the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the European Union.
The prototype, inspired by African firefighting methods and military tank technology, was showcased during a meeting with the diplomats.
Museveni explained that the innovation was born out of watching fire disasters devastate towns abroad.
“I was inspired to combine our African firefighting tactics with military tank technology to create this fire-eating vehicle,” he said.
He expressed optimism that the showcased technology will attract international buyers.
“I hope they will embrace this proposal and become our clients. This initiative represents our commitment to philanthropy and the promotion of African innovations,” Museveni noted.
The development underscores Uganda’s growing efforts to innovate homegrown solutions to global challenges while positioning local technology for export.
