President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni on Friday laid the foundation stone for the new headquarters of Obwa Kyabazinga bwa Busoga, pledging continued cooperation with the cultural institution to advance peace and development in the region.
The President made the stopover to meet the Kyabazinga on his way to the final rally at Bugembe Stadium in Jinja City. He said the project symbolises a growing partnership aimed at strengthening Busoga’s cultural identity and supporting government efforts toward transformation.
“I thank the Kyabazinga and his team for the good cooperation,” President Museveni said. “This development will support the cultural institution as we continue working with the people of Busoga to secure peace and push forward socio-economic transformation.”
The new headquarters are expected to enhance the kingdom’s administrative work and reinforce its role in mobilising communities for development programmes.
The ceremony comes at a time when government continues to emphasise cultural institutions as partners in promoting unity, stability and economic progress across the country.
