The Kyabazinga of Busoga, William Wilberforce Gabula Nadiope IV, has congratulated Edward Rukidi Kijanangoma Nyabongo I on his accession to the Tooro throne and called for closer ties between the two kingdoms.
In a message issued for today’s coronation, the Kyabazinga said Busoga and Tooro share a long friendship and heritage that give their people “unity and strength”.
“We look forward to deepening these bonds for the benefit of our people and all Ugandans,” he said.
The Kyabazinga wished the new Omukama wisdom, peace and a long life as he leads Tooro. He also expressed hope that the kingdom would prosper under his reign.
Edward succeeds Omukama Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru Rukidi IV, who died on August 27, 2026.
