Full List: Startups that will Share Shs7.39bn Govt Innovation Fund

The National ICT Initiatives Support Program (NIISP) on Wednesday announced 45 innovators that had won the competition aimed at finding solutions to improve health service delivery in Uganda.

These forty-five startups will share Shs7.39 billion.

After Covid-19 broke out in the country, the Program called innovators to submit projects that can help support the fight against respiratory illness.

According to a statement from the ministry of ICT and National Guidance, the call attracted over 950 online applications.

The line minister Judith Nabakooba while officiating the award ceremony noted that NIISP, also known as the Innovation Fund, was rolled out to support ICT Innovation and it has so far run for 3 years supporting sectors of Education, Health, Agriculture among others.

NIISP primarily aims at facilitating the growth and development of indigenous software applications to provide systematic and sustainable support to ICT innovators, to promote ICT products and services for improved service delivery.
