The Minister of State for Sports, Hon Peter Ogwang is emphatically assured of three points as Uganda takes on Senegal in the CHAN tournament in Annaba, Algeria on Wednesday night.

Ogwang has been in Algiers with Micho's Cranes and has been instrumental in offering moral support to the team.

"The Senegal game is a must win for us to comfortably progress to the next round. The team is committed and has been training so hard to ensure that they win this game," Ogwang said.

He said government has adequately supported and facilitated the team in Algiers and they are in high spirit to make Ugandans proud.

However, there is worry on how the rush weather in Algeria could affect Uganda Cranes’ players considering the fact that they are not used to playing under such extremely cold conditions.

As of today, the temperatures in Annaba City are expected to drop from 15 degrees to as low as 8 degrees by 10pm at kickoff time. Uganda was held to a goalless draw against DR of Congo in their first campaign on Saturday. A win tonight would draw them closer to qualification to the next stage.
