Uganda is set to co-host the 2024 African Nations Championship (CHAN), officially branded as the TotalEnergies CAF CHAN PAMOJA 2024, alongside Kenya and Tanzania.
The tournament kicks off on Saturday, August 2, with Uganda hosting 12 matches at Mandela National Stadium, Namboole. Group C, which includes Uganda, Algeria, Guinea, Niger, and South Africa, will play all its matches in Uganda.
The Uganda Cranes will face Algeria in their opening match on Monday, August 4, at 8 p.m.
Fans interested in attending the matches will buy tickets online.There will be no physical tickets.
Tickets can be purchased by visiting the CAF ticketing website or by scanning the official CAF QR code, which redirects users to the site.
Once there, selecting the “Book now” option under Uganda will lead you to the match fixtures at Namboole Stadium.
Currently, only the group stage matches are available for sale.
These include matches scheduled for August 4, 8, 11, and 15. On August 18, Uganda will play South Africa, but tickets for that date are not yet on sale.
Most matchdays feature two games, and a single ticket grants access to all matches scheduled for that day.
However, once a ticket is scanned at the gate and you enter the stadium, you cannot exit and re-enter using the same ticket.
Ticket prices are categorised into three daily rates: Shs10,000 for Ordinary, Shs30,000 for Silver, and Shs50,000 for Premium.
Each category corresponds to specific seating areas in the stadium.
Ordinary sections are behind the goalposts, Silver is opposite the VVIP section on the eastern side, while Premium seats are located next to the VVIP section.
Each ticket purchase allows for a maximum of five people per fixture.
Payment options include MTN MoMo, Airtel Money, and Visa or MasterCard.
Buyers will be required to enter their full name, phone number, and email address before completing the transaction.
Once payment is confirmed, the ticket will be delivered via SMS with a download link or sent directly to the provided email address.
On match day, fans can either print out their ticket or present it on their phone for scanning at the gate. It's advisable to purchase tickets early to secure a preferred seat and avoid last-minute inconveniences.
