The Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) has conducted a visit to the Uganda Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (UHTTI) in Jinja to assess training standards, strengthen partnerships, and support workforce development in the tourism sector.
Led by Principal Richard Kawere, the UHTTI team hosted the UTB Board and Management, offering a guided tour of the institute’s upgraded training facilities. Kawere also presented the institute’s strategic goals aimed at enhancing the quality and relevance of tourism and hospitality education.
UTB officials commended UHTTI’s progress and reaffirmed their commitment to promoting the institute's growth. They pledged to continue supporting its efforts, especially by linking graduates to employment opportunities within Uganda’s expanding tourism and hospitality industry.
As part of the visit, the UTB team also toured the Source of the Nile to assess ongoing tourism development projects in the area.
The visit underscores UTB’s broader efforts to improve tourism infrastructure, professional training, and destination competitiveness across Uganda.
