NRM Party has kicked off the process of displaying voters’ register ahead of the Party primary elections next week. The ruling party will on Friday, September 04, conduct its party primaries to pick flag bearers for parliamentary elections in February 2020.

Displaying of voters’ register started today, Friday and according to John Arimpa Kigyagi, the Deputy Chairperson of Electoral Commission, NRM, the exercise will go on up to Tuesday, September 01.

Kigyagi has encouraged all voters in the NRM register to participate in this exercise and verify their details on the register.

According to the recently revised NRM roadmap, parliamentary elections (constituency, district woman MP) will be held on Sept. 4 while those of Special Interest Groups (SIGs) -- workers, PWDs, youths and older persons -- will held on October 10. Nominations for constituency MPs and district Woman MP are already done while those of SIGs will be held on August 24. For LCV chairpersons, city lord mayors, and city mayors, nominations are already done and elections will be on Sept. 11.
