SFC 6 Infantry Battalion Test Endurance in 20km Route March

SFC 6 Infantry Battalion completed a 20km route march to strengthen physical endurance, teamwork and operational readiness among its personnel.

The Special Forces Command (SFC) 6 Infantry Battalion under the 1 Special Forces Group (1SFG) conducted a 20km route march through Bendegere, Nkumba and Kasenyi to strengthen physical fitness, endurance and operational readiness among its personnel.

The exercise brought together officers and militants from the Kasenyi and Bwebajja detachments.

The Battalion Commanding Officer, Lt Col Sam Kabweera, said the route march was designed to assess and improve the physical endurance, stamina and mental toughness of personnel within the unit.

He said such exercises play a critical role in preparing soldiers to perform their duties under demanding operational conditions.

“Physical training remains a cornerstone of military professionalism and combat effectiveness. Through activities such as route marches, we are able to strengthen not only the physical capabilities of our personnel but also their mental resilience and teamwork,” Lt Col Kabweera said.

He commended the officers and militants for their enthusiasm, commitment and determination throughout the exercise.

He added that discipline, cohesion and teamwork are cultivated through sustained physical activity and collective effort.

Lt Col Kabweera noted that regular field exercises are essential in preparing troops for operational deployment and ensuring units remain capable of accomplishing assigned missions within the required timelines.

The route march demonstrated the battalion’s level of combat readiness, discipline and operational capability, reinforcing its preparedness to execute the mandate of the Special Forces Command.
