Uganda Airlines, the national carrier of Uganda, has entered into an interline partnership with Air India, a prominent global airline.

The partnership, effective from 25 August, allows passengers to book a single ticket for smooth travel between Africa and the Indian subcontinent, as well as other destinations.

This collaboration expands Uganda Airlines’ global reach and offers its customers easy access to Air India’s extensive network.

With this agreement, travellers from Entebbe International Airport (EBB) can now connect to over 25 destinations in India and other major international hubs through Air India’s gateway in Mumbai (BOM).

Passengers flying with Uganda Airlines can now connect to Air India flights to key Indian cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, as well as global hubs like Bangkok, London Heathrow, and Singapore.

The partnership also introduces Uganda to Air India’s large customer base.

Travellers from India and other Asian countries can now fly to Mumbai or Dubai with Air India and connect to Uganda Airlines flights to Entebbe. This provides them the opportunity to explore Uganda’s famous wildlife, landscapes, and business prospects.

Additionally, Air India passengers can connect from Entebbe to various African destinations, including South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Zimbabwe, and Zambia, via Uganda Airlines’ growing network across the continent.

Jenifer Bamuturaki, the CEO of Uganda Airlines, expressed her enthusiasm about the partnership.

“This interline agreement is a key step in our strategy to connect Uganda to Africa and beyond,” she said.

The collaboration offers customers a seamless travel experience to new destinations, enhancing economic and cultural ties between the two regions.
