The Ugandan government plans to recruit over 2,000 teachers and non-teaching staff for 90 new Seed Secondary Schools established under the Uganda Inter-Governmental Fiscal Transfer Program (UgIFT) across the country.
According to an external job advertisement dated December 23, each UgIFT Seed Secondary School will receive 23 teaching staff members and six non-teaching staff members. Positions include education officers, assistant education officers, senior assistant accountants, stenographer secretaries, enrolled nurses, laboratory assistants, and library assistants.
Applicants are advised to prepare their documents and application forms between December 23, 2024, and January 5, 2025. Completed applications will be accepted at designated receiving centers from January 6 to 10, 2025, between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. each day. Dennis Mugimba, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Education and Sports said the application form UGIFT/2/2024 and summary form UGIFT/2/2024 are available on the Education Service Commission website.
Receiving centers are located in ten districts: Arua, Gulu, Lira, Mbale, Jinja, Kampala, Mbarara, Fort Portal, Kitgum, and Hoima. Applicants are encouraged to submit their applications at the center nearest to their preferred duty station.
"This recruitment drive aims to staff new secondary schools across various districts in Uganda. The initiative is part of the government's efforts to enhance education access and quality nationwide," Mugimba says.
