Build Your Character to Gain Credibility- Oulanyah Tells Youth
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament Jacob Oulanyah has asked the youth to focus on building their character and credibility which will come in handy in their efforts to transform society.
Credibility, said Oulanyah, is a product of consistent exemplary behavior that will anchor youngsters into leadership.
Oulanyah was in Gulu to prepare youth leaders subscribing to the National Resistance Movement (NRM) for the elections.
“Your character must be beyond reproach; starting with where you come from because people can only listen to you if you are credible; people want politics of reason and of value,” he said.
Whereas the future is pegged on the youthful population, Oulanyah said credibility is key if the youth are to succeed in their endeavors.
The Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Eng Hillary Onek cautioned the youth against allying with foreign forces to wreak havoc in the country.
“You should not be a sell-out because these foreigners come and dish money and ask you to turn against the government; we have the same destiny and therefore, if you turn against the country, you will be turning against yourself,” said Onek.
He urged voters in Northern Uganda to transcend clan politics which he labeled as the sectarianism working against the region’s cohesion.
Ms Milly Babalanda, President Museveni’s Political Assistant urged the youth to follow guidance from leaders and conduct the door of the next campaign to door while strictly adhering to the standard operating procedures issued in light of Covid-19.
Oulanyah is scheduled to be in Arua on Thursday where he will complete a week-long charm offensive in the Greater North to prepare his National Resistance Movement supporters for the forthcoming elections.
