Uganda has registered the highest number in a single day after 21 truck drivers tested positive meaning that the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases in Uganda has risen to 160.
“All the new cases are truck drivers confirmed from the 11,593 samples,” the ministry said in a tweet on its official twitter handle.
The total number of truck drivers who have so far tested positive for Covid-19 in Uganda is 100 out of the 160 cases.
The new cases include; Ugandans, Kenyans, Tanzanians and South Sudanese who arrived via Mutukula, Busia and Elegu borders.
According to the health ministry, all the 303 community samples tested negative of COVID-19.
A total of 1,896 samples were tested on Thursday. So far, 63 people have recovered from the dreaded virus.
