Uganda Registers 36 New COVID-19 Cases as Total Passes 600 Mark

Uganda's confirmed cases of COVID-19 have increased by 23, bringing the total number of positive cases to 616.

According to the ministry, the new cases include "Seven truck drivers from Elegu, Mutukula and Mirama Hills points of entry".

Two cases of a security personnel from Elegu and a frontline health worker were part of the results confirmed.

The ministry added: "14 cases are from contacts and alerts from; Kyotera, Adjumani, Tororo and Amuru districts."

"47 foreign truck drivers who tested positive for COVID-19 were handed over to their countries of origin," the ministry said in a tweet.

Uganda has not yet registered any death related to COVID-19 while the total recoveries stand at 96.
