81 Cabinet and State Ministers will today take oath at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds.

Due to COVID-19 pandemic, the ceremony will not be held at State House, Entebbe as it has always been the norm.

Attendance has also been limited to a few journalists and relatives of the incoming Ministers.

President Yoweri Museveni will attend and witness the Swearing in ceremony of his Ministers in an event that will be administered by the Secretary to the Cabinet John Mitala.

The Presidential Press Secretary Lindah Nabusayi confirmed Museveni's attendance in a tweet saying, "@KagutaMuseveni is this morning due to preside over the swearing in of new Cabinet Ministers at a scientific ceremony at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds. The event will be broadcast live on all Television and Radio Stations."

Early this month, Museveni appointed his new cabinet where he dropped over 30 ministers. The incoming ministers were last week successfully vetted with the exception of Alice Kaboyo, the state minister Designate for Luweero-Rwenzori Triangle whose appointment was questioned by the Parliamentary Appointments Committee over corruption and integrity.

In 2012, the Anti-Corruption court convicted Kaboyo, after she pleaded ‘guilty’ on four of nine counts in the Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation (Gavi) case.

By law, a person who has ever been convicted for any charges can not serve in a public office for atleast 10years from the time of conviction.
