The Commander of the 3rd Infantry Division of the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF), Maj Gen Don William Nabasa, has encouraged recently retired soldiers to remain dedicated to supporting government initiatives and maintaining disciplined community engagement. “As good ambassadors, you should practice conscious discipline in the community you are about to join. Don’t isolate yourselves; instead, be proactive in all areas,” he said. He advised retirees to avoid divisive politics, warning against setting negative examples in their communities, noting that public trust in the UPDF extends to its reserve forces.
