The Uganda People’s Defence Forces has released the shortlist of successful candidates for the 2026 general recruitment exercise.
The army said the candidates were selected after an online application process. They come from all districts across the country.
The shortlist covers applicants for both the regular forces and the specialised professional wing.
Successful candidates will now report for physical recruitment in their respective districts. The exercise will run from July 20 to August 1, 2026.
The recruitment targets ordinary recruits and professionals in several fields. These include education, aviation, health, law, engineering, sports and music.
The UPDF says the exercise will help strengthen its operational, technical, medical, legal and administrative capacity.
It will also offer career opportunities to qualified Ugandans seeking to serve in the army.
