The UPDF leadership has instructed Uganda's foreign defence attachés to prioritize military diplomacy and protect national interests. Speaking at a strategic retreat, Lt Gen Sam Okiding and Lt Gen Jack Bakasumba warned the military diplomats to uphold absolute discipline and fight corruption.

Uganda and Russia have reaffirmed their diplomatic ties during a bilateral meeting between Foreign Affairs Minister Hon. Gen. Jeje Odongo Abubakhar and Russian envoy Sergey Lobanov.
