#Uganda's Support for Peace in Somalia

The UPDF contingent in Somalia has appointed Colonel Jude Rukubya as its new Deputy Contingent Commander, replacing Colonel Francis Obita Aragamoi. Presided over by Brig Gen Jackson Kayanja under the AUSSOM mission, the transition highlights Uganda's ongoing commitment to executing critical pacification operations and securing lasting stability in the region.

The UPDF has deployed Battle Group XLVII to Somalia after rigorous training at Singo. Brig Gen Fred Mwesigye urged the troops to maintain discipline and professionalism as they join the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission.
